Covetear Returns & Warranty Policy
Covetear complies with Australian Consumer Law. All purchases come with a 12-month warranty and Consumer Guarantees, ensuring your jewellery is free from faults and matches its description.
We want you to adore your Covetear piece, but we understand that sometimes the wrong item is chosen or you may change your mind. Please read our Returns Policy carefully before proceeding.
What Can Be Returned Online
We accept returns for unused and unworn jewellery within 30 days of dispatch, provided it meets the following conditions:
- All Ready to Ship and Production-on-Demand items are eligible for return
- Earrings can only be returned if the sterilisation seal is fully intact. Our blue sterilisation envelope is certified and checked by a Covetear team member before dispatch.
- Items must be in new condition and include all original packaging, including the gift box.
- Returns are available to both Australian and international customers.
- You may choose between a store credit or a refund to your original payment method.
In-Store Purchase
Only eligible items purchased in-store—those that are unworn, unused, and in their original packaging—may be returned or exchanged in-store within 14 days of purchase.
Returns or exchanges can only be processed at the original Covetear Studio where the item was purchased. Please bring your proof of purchase when visiting.
Piercing services, installed jewellery, and custom orders purchased in-store are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless deemed faulty under our warranty terms.
Restocking Fee
For change-of-mind returns where no exchange is made (e.g. incorrect size), a 10% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund. This helps offset merchant fees, handling, and packaging costs incurred in fulfilling your order.
Final Sale Items
The following items are not eligible for return unless faulty:
- Sale items
- Items purchased using a discount or promo code (store credit only unless faulty)
- Custom made pieces
- Earrings that have been removed from their sterile envelope or where the seal has been damaged
- Earrings not delivered in a sterile envelope (please choose carefully)
- Gift cards and vouchers
- Consumables
- Purchases made in-stores or through stockists
Piercing & Installation Services
For hygiene and safety, all jewellery used during a Covetear piercing appointment is final sale, unless a manufacturing fault is covered under our warranty.
Piercing services and installation charges are non-refundable.
Return Process
All returns must be lodged via our Returns Portal.
How to Return:
1. Log in to your customer account, and toggle to the order number you wish to return
2. Select the item(s) to return and the reason
3. Choose your resolution: store credit or refund
4. Agree to the Returns Policy
5. You will receive an email with instructions.
Return Shipping
- Covetear does not cover return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error or a faulty product.
- Customers are responsible for the safe delivery of return parcels. We recommend using a tracked service.
- We do not refund any customs duties or VAT for international orders.
Refunds & Store Credits
- Store Credit will be issued within 5 business days of receiving your return, sent to the email on the original order.
- Refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days once your return has been received and approved.
Returning a Gift
We offer store credit only for returned gifts, unless the original purchaser initiates the return.
To return a gift, you will need the order number and contact information (postcode, phone or email) from the original order.
Due to privacy laws, we cannot access or share this information for you.
International Returns
For all international orders:
- Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty
- We are not liable for returned goods until they are received
- Use a tracked service and share this with customercare@covetear.com on lodgement
Faulty or Damaged Items/ Warranty Claims (12 Months)
If you believe your item is faulty or damaged, please contact us immediately at customercare@covetear.com with the following:
- 2 clear photos showing the fault or damage
- Your order number
- A brief description of the issue
We’ll assess your case and provide next steps, usually within 1-2 business days. Please refer to our Warranty Policy for eligibility.
If your item is within its 12-month warranty period, you may lodge a claim.
